Sextant #3 Lingual Aspect

This video demonstration is the maxillary arch, lingual aspect, the mesial surfaces with the Gracey 11/12. The reinforced technique has the working hand with an extraoral fulcrum, palm up with the back of the fingers resting against the face and chin. The reinforced hand will use the left index finger to gently retract the cheek and depress the tongue. The index finger is placed on the upper shank. The left thumb is placed on the knuckle of the right thumb to bridge for reinforcement. Use a vertical pull stroke with the hand and arm moving as a single unit to get additional pressure and stability. Additional reinforcement includes the pinching technique with the index finger and thumb on the upper shank for more lateral pressure.
